Professional societies have been paralized towards QALY, because they unfortunately missed to deal with the QALY on a scientific basis. This allowed designated rationers, such as Prof. Felder, to build up his mischief in the medical sector unhindered and to disinform our society about the alleged lack of cost-effectiveness of medical services.
But Prof. Felder is not to blame, he just did, what he felt to be right. The mere lack of knowledge of the professional medical societies in the establishment of value of medicine using QALY has a detrimental effect: no counterforce is present to rectify the disdain of life established by national economists.
We advocate for an immediate introduction of medical health economy as new discipline in medicine.

Professional medical societies are asked to lend support to such activities (AGLA, SKG, and so on)
Improved communicative skills are overdue to improve the translation of our goals to the public in order to save lives and to avoid costly and preventable diseases in Switzerland that cost 10’000 Mio every year.
